چکیده

We demonstrate a high sensitivity all-fiber spectroscopic methane sensor based on photothermal interferometry. With 2.4-m-long anti-resonant hollow-core fiber, 1654 nm distributed feedback laser, and Raman fiber amplifier, noise-equivalent concentration of ∼ 4.3 p mathvariant="normal">b is achieved at the room temperature pressure 1 mathvariant="normal">a mathvariant="normal">r . The effects phase modulation as well stability interferometer are studied. By introducing temperature-dependent compensation factor stabilizing quadrature, signal instability 2.1 mathvariant="normal">% demonstrated for variation from 296 to 373 K.

Gas Sensor Based on Large Hollow-Core Photonic Bandgap Fiber

One concern in using photonic band-gap fiber (PBGF) as a gas sensor is the response time. In this type of the gas sensors, response time is the time required for gas to diffuse into the hollow-core. So considering a large hollow-core PBGF (HC-PBGF), the response time can be significantly reduced. But in the large HC-PBGF, the fundamental issue is the presence of higher order modes (HOMs). Somet...

Diaphragm Based Fiber Bragg Grating Acceleration Sensor with Temperature Compensation

A novel fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensing-based acceleration sensor has been proposed to simultaneously decouple and measure temperature and acceleration in real-time. This design applied a diaphragm structure and utilized the axial property of a tightly suspended optical fiber, enabling improvement in its sensitivity and resonant frequency and achieve a low cross-sensitivity. The theoretical v...

Flying particle microlaser and temperature sensor in hollow-core photonic crystal fiber.

Whispering-gallery mode (WGM) resonators combine small optical mode volumes with narrow resonance linewidths, making them exciting platforms for a variety of applications. Here we report a flying WGM microlaser, realized by optically trapping a dye-doped microparticle within a liquid-filled hollow-core photonic crystal fiber (HC-PCF) using a CW laser and then pumping it with a pulsed excitation...

Detection of methane at 1670-nm band with a hollow-core photonic bandgap fiber

In recent years, hollow-core photonic bandgap fibers (HC-PBFs) have been demonstrated to be a promising technology for gas sensing. In particular, the long interaction path lengths available with these fibers are especially advantageous for the detection of weakly absorbing gases such as methane. In the near-infrared region, methane has the strongest absorption band, 2ν3, at 1670 nm. However, H...

Miniature high-sensitivity high-temperature fiber sensor with a dispersion compensation fiber-based interferometer.

A miniature high-sensitivity, high-temperature fiber sensor with an interferometer based on a bare small-core-diameter dispersion compensation fiber (DCF) is reported. The sensing head is a single-mode-fiber (SMF) DCF configuration formed by a 4 mm long bare DCF with one end connected to the SMF by a fusion splicing technique and the other end cleaved. Due to the large mode index difference and...
